Visual Inspection: Notes

This inspection will identify modifications or additions to the vehicle operating system that can affect diagnosis.

• Vehicle modification
• Electronic add-on items
• Air conditioning
• Generators (alternators)
• Engine turbo
• Cellular telephone
• Cruise control
• CB radio
• Linear boosters
• Backup alarm signals
• Computer

1. The above items, if not correctly installed, will affect PCM or transaxle function. Pay particular attention to add-on wiring splices in the PCM harness or transaxle wiring harness, abnormal tire size or axle ratio changes.
2. Leaks. Refer to Leakage Inspection .
3. Correct linkage adjustments. Refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION EXTERNAL CONTROLS - CD4E article.
