The 6F50 automatic transaxle is a 6-speed transaxle with electronic shift control. It is designed for operation in a transverse powertrain for front wheel drive (FWD) and all wheel drive (AWD) vehicles and has the following major components:

• Case with torque converter housing
• Two drive clutches:
  • direct clutch
  • overdrive clutch
• Four brake clutches:
  • forward clutch
  • one-way roller clutch
  • low/reverse clutch
  • intermediate clutch
• Three planetary gear sets:
  • front
  • center
  • rear
• Final drive gearset
• Differential
• Pump assembly
• Main control
