Pinpoint Test E: DTC C1185: Testing
NOTE:
Repair all other DTCs before proceeding.
- E1 CHECK THE ABS MODULE FOR DTCs
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Retrieve and record the ABS module DTCs.
- Is DTC C1185 retrieved?
- YES : Go to E2.
- NO : CLEAR the DTCs. DRIVE the vehicle over a rough road. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.
- E2 CHECK CIRCUIT 532 (OG/YE) FOR POWER
- Measure the voltage between ground and:
- ABS module C135-9, circuit 532 (OG/YE), harness side.
- ABS module C135-25, circuit 532 (OG/YE), harness side.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- YES : Go to E3.
- NO : VERIFY battery junction box (BJB) fuse 11 (10A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR circuit 532 (OG/YE). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- Measure the voltage between ground and:
- E3 CHECK FOR CORRECT ABS MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect all ABS connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion.
- pushed-out pins.
- spread terminals.
- Connect all ABS connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- YES : INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- NO : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
