PROGRAM TERMS
This program will be in effect through February 24, 2008.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
Certain 2006 model year Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey vehicles built at the Oakville Assembly Plant from January 30, 2006 through February 14, 2006. Affected vehicles are identified in OASIS. In addition, for a list of vehicles assigned to your dealership, visit https://web.fsavinlists.dealerconnection.com. This information will be available on February 27, 2006.
REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM
In some of the affected vehicles, the crankshaft position sensor harness connector may not have been fully seated in the crankshaft position sensor. If the crankshaft position sensor became disconnected, the engine would stop.
SERVICE ACTION
Dealers are to perform a pull test on the crankshaft position sensor harness connector to make sure it is fully seated in the sensor. This service must be performed on affected vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner. All affected vehicles in your inventory must be repaired prior to delivery.

Yes. OASIS will be activated by February 24, 2006.
FSA VIN LIST ACTIVATED?
Yes.
Available through FMCDealer.com or at https://web.fsavinlists.dealerconnection.com by February 27, 2006. Owner names and addresses will be available by March 10, 2006.
STOCK VEHICLES
Correct all affected units in your new vehicle inventory before delivery.
SOLD VEHICLES
- Owners of affected vehicles will be directed to dealers for repairs.
- Immediately contact any of your affected owners whose vehicles are not on your VIN lists but are identified in OASIS. Give the owner a copy of the Customer Notification Letter and schedule a service date.
- Correct other affected vehicles identified in OASIS which are brought to your dealership.
RELATED DAMAGE
Related damage claims are not approved for this program.
ADDITIONAL LABOR TIME
This repair will require no additional labor time to complete. Claims submitted with "MT" labor will not be accepted for reimbursement.
OWNER REFUNDS
Refunds are not authorized for this program.
RENTAL VEHICLES
The use of rental vehicles is not authorized for this program.
CLAIMS PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION
- Enter claims using Direct Warranty Entry (DWE).
- PROGRAM TERMS: This program will be in effect through February 24, 2008 regardless of distance traveled.

Crank Position Sensor Connector Inspection
OVERVIEW
This program involves verifying that the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor harness connector is fully engaged onto the sensor.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Raise the vehicle on a hoist and locate the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor near the crankshaft pulley.
- Push the harness connector in to make sure it is fully connected to the sensor, then lightly tug on the connector to make certain of a proper connection. See Fig 1.
- Lower and release the vehicle.
