Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Remove the hood.
  3. Remove the cowl panel grille. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
  4. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.

  5. Remove the bolts and the cowl top panel.
    • To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

  6. Remove the 2 engine roll restrictor bolts and the engine roll restrictor.
    • To install, tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
  7. Remove the transaxle support insulator nut.
    • To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  8. Remove the LH engine mount nut.
    • To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  9. Remove the RH engine mount nut.
    • To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  10. Using the special tools, raise the engine.

  11. Remove the generator brace bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  12. NOTE: The A/C compressor must be repositioned to access the LH engine mount bolt.
  13. Loosen the A/C compressor mounting bolts 25.4 mm (1 in), then slide the A/C compressor toward the front of the vehicle.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  14. Remove the LH engine mount bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  15. Remove the LH engine mount.
  16. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
