Speed Control Cable: Installation

    NOTE: Incorrect wrapping of the speed control cable core wire around the speed control actuator pulley may result in a high idle condition.
  1. Insert the speed control cable slug into the speed control actuator pulley slot.
    1. Gently push the retaining spring.
    2. Insert the speed control cable slug completely into the speed control actuator pulley slot.

  2. NOTE: Make sure the rubber seal is correctly seated onto the speed control cable cap.

  3. Align the speed control cable cap tabs with the slots in the speed control actuator housing and seat the speed control cable cap.
  4. Rotate the speed control cable cap clockwise until the locking tab engages.

  5. NOTE: Make sure the tabs on the speed control cable are locked in place and that the cable is fully seated in the bracket.
  6. Install the speed control cable on the throttle bracket.
  7. Connect the speed control cable to the throttle lever end.
  8. Install the air cleaner assembly. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING .
