Pump and Intermediate Clutch Piston: Assembly
- Using the special tool, install the front pump seal assembly.
- Install the inner and outer fluid pump gerotor gears.
- The reverse clutch cylinder seal rings are larger than the forward clutch cylinder seals.
- Note that the new seals are square cut on the ends.
- Install the seal rings.
- Install a new front pump seal.
- Assemble the front pump.
- Position the pump support to the pump body assembly.
- Install the bolts.
- Tighten to 23 N.m (17 lb-ft).
- Install the intermediate clutch piston.
- Once the pump is installed correctly, the bleed hole will be aligned with the pump body as shown in Fig 7.
NOTE:
The flats on the inner fluid pump gear have steps that must face the pump body or damage will result.
NOTE:
CAUTION:
The piston bleed hole must be aligned with the half moon shape in the pump body. Shift problems may occur if installed incorrectly.
NOTE:
The piston bleed hole is the only round hole in the pump body.
