Pinpoint Test B: No Communication With The Rear Electronic Module (Rem)

  1. B1 CHECK CIRCUIT 30-DK31 (RD/GN) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: REM C420e.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between the REM C420e-3, circuit 29-DK31 (OG/BK), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : GO to B2.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. B2 CHECK THE REM GROUND CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: REM C420c.
    • Disconnect: REM C420f.
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Use the following table to measure the resistance between the REM connector, harness side and ground:

      C420c-12 31-DK30H (BK/OG)
      C420f-11 31-DK30D (BK/OG)
      C420f-12 31-DK30E (BK/OG)
      C420f-25 31-DK30F (BK/OG)
      C420f-26 31-DK30G (BK/OG)

    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
