Removal and Installation
CAUTION:
During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.
- Remove the 2 nuts and position the auxiliary relay box aside.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt and position aside the oil level indicator tube.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Disconnect the crankcase vent hose from the LH valve cover.
- Disconnect the crankcase vent hose electrical connector.
- Remove the 3 bolts and the 2 stud bolts from the LH valve cover.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Remove the LH valve cover.
- Remove and inspect the LH valve cover gasket.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
Do not discard the gasket. It may be reused if it is not damaged.
