Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the hood.
  3. Remove the wiper motor and pivot assembly. For additional information, refer to WIPERS AND WASHERS .
  4. Remove the 2 engine roll restrictor bolts and the engine roll restrictor.
    • To install, tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
  5. Remove the transaxle support insulator nut.
    • To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  6. Remove the LH engine mount nut.
    • To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  7. Remove the RH engine mount nut.
    • To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  8. Using the special tools, raise the engine.

  9. Remove the alternator brace bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  10. NOTE: The A/C compressor must be repositioned to access the LH engine mount bolt.

  11. Loosen the A/C compressor mounting bolts 25.4 mm (1 in), then slide the A/C compressor toward the front of the vehicle.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  12. Remove the LH engine mount bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  13. Remove the LH engine mount.
  14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
