Illuminated Entry

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Lincoln Navigator and 2006 Ford Expedition. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Illuminated entry is activated when the vehicle is unlocked using the keyless entry keypad or the RKE transmitter. In response, the vehicle security module requests that the instrument cluster supply voltage to the interior lamps. Illuminated entry is deactivated when the vehicle security module receives a lock signal from the RKE transmitter. Illuminated entry is also deactivated when the instrument cluster receives a change in ignition switch status.
