Removal And Installation: Muffler: Installation

    NOTE: Clean the mating surfaces of the three-way converter and the dual converter Y-pipe.
    NOTE: To correctly seat the converters, alternately tighten the three-way converter-to-dual converter Y-pipe nuts to specification.
  1. Install a new gasket into the Y-pipe flange. Install the three-way catalytic converter studs into the Y-pipe flange and tighten the new nuts.
    • Support with a suitable jack stand.

  2. Connect the muffler to the three-way catalytic converter and install the insulators.
    • Remove the jack stand.

  3. Install the exhaust clamp and tighten the nuts.

  4. Install the left rear suspension control arm(s). For additional information, refer to REAR article.
    • Check and, if necessary, adjust the alignment.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
