Engine Front Cover, Timing Gears, Chain and Tensioners: Notes

Silicone Gasket and Sealant F7AZ-19554-EA	WSE-M4G323-A4

1. With the vehicle in neutral, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
2. Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR .
3. Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. For additional information, refer to CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR .
4. Remove the coolant pump. For additional information, refer to WATER PUMP .
5. Remove the camshaft synchronizer. For additional information, refer to CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR .
6. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustrations.

   To remove individual parts, only carry out the listed steps: 

   Part	Steps
   Engine front cover	1-16
   Timing chain and gears	1-21
   Timing chain tensioner	1-23

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
8. Drain the engine oil and refill with clean engine oil.
