Suspension Design Height Setting
All Vehicles
- Remove the springs. For additional information, refer to REAR SUSPENSION .
- Detach the stabilizer bar from the rear lower arm.
- Fabricate a 20 mm wide by 113 mm long spacer.
- Using a suitable wooden block and a suitable transmission jack, raise the suspension to the design height setting.
- Position the wooden block and transmission jack as shown.
- Install the spacer.
- Remove the bump stop.
- Install the spacer between the rear lower arm and the crossmember making sure the spacer is in a vertical plane.
- Attach the rear lower arm to the wheel knuckle.
- Fabricate a 20 mm wide by 157 mm long spacer.
- Using a suitable wooden block and a suitable transmission jack, raise the suspension to the design height setting.
- Position the wooden block and transmission jack as shown.
- Install the spacer.
- Install the spacer between the rear lower arm and the crossmember making sure the spacer is in a vertical plane.
NOTE:
The final tightening of the suspension must be carried out at the design height setting.
3-door,4-door and 5-door.
NOTE:
The spacer must be positioned exactly as illustrated.
Wagon
NOTE:
Do not fully tighten the rear lower arm to wheel knuckle bolt at this stage.
