Suspension Design Height Setting

All Vehicles 

    NOTE: The final tightening of the suspension must be carried out at the design height setting.
  1. Remove the springs. For additional information, refer to REAR SUSPENSION .
  2. 3-door,4-door and 5-door. 

  3. Detach the stabilizer bar from the rear lower arm.

  4. Fabricate a 20 mm wide by 113 mm long spacer.

  6. Using a suitable wooden block and a suitable transmission jack, raise the suspension to the design height setting.
    • Position the wooden block and transmission jack as shown.

  7. NOTE: The spacer must be positioned exactly as illustrated.

  8. Install the spacer.
    1. Remove the bump stop.
    2. Install the spacer between the rear lower arm and the crossmember making sure the spacer is in a vertical plane.
  9. Wagon 

    NOTE: Do not fully tighten the rear lower arm to wheel knuckle bolt at this stage.

  10. Attach the rear lower arm to the wheel knuckle.
  11. Fabricate a 20 mm wide by 157 mm long spacer.

  12. Using a suitable wooden block and a suitable transmission jack, raise the suspension to the design height setting.
    • Position the wooden block and transmission jack as shown.

  13. NOTE: The spacer must be positioned exactly as illustrated.

  14. Install the spacer.
    • Install the spacer between the rear lower arm and the crossmember making sure the spacer is in a vertical plane.
