Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the air cleaner. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  2. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  3. Disconnect the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module electrical connectors.
    • Disconnect the control module electrical connector.
    • Disconnect the pump motor electrical connector.

  4. NOTE: Do not pry the module from the hydraulic control unit (HCU).

  5. Remove the ABS module.
    • Remove the screws in the sequence shown.
    • Remove the module.
  6. NOTE: Be sure the ABS module-to-HCU gasket is clean and installed correctly.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
