Tie Rod End-Inner: Removal

  1. Remove the steering gear. For additional information, refer to POWER STEERING .
  2. NOTE: RH side shown; LH side similar.
    NOTE: It is necessary to remove both steering gear boots when removing the RH inner tie rod end.

  3. Remove the boot clamps and the steering gear boot.
  4. NOTE: LH side shown; RH side similar.

  5. Using a suitable tool, hold the piston shaft.
  6. NOTE: RH side shown; LH side similar.

  7. Using a suitable tool, remove the inner tie rod end.
  8. NOTE: Using a suitable tool, hold the piston shaft while tightening.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
