Support Insulator - Lower, Rear: Removal

    NOTE: 2.0L Zetec shown; 2.0L SPI similar. Install Three-Bar Engine Support.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle, refer to JACKING & HOISTING .
  2. Remove the splash shield bolts from the engine support crossmember.

  3. Remove the bolts and the crossmember.

  4. NOTE: Disconnect the A/C line from the retainer located on the front of the engine crossmember.

  5. Remove the engine crossmember.
    1. Remove the bolts and nuts.
    2. Remove the lower front insulator nuts.
    3. Remove the lower rear insulator nuts.
    4. Remove the engine support crossmember.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Partially lower the rear of the engine to gain access to the lower rear insulator bolt.
    • Loosen the nuts on Three-Bar Engine Support.

  8. Raise the vehicle.
  9. Remove the lower rear support insulator.
    1. Remove the nut and the bolt.
    2. Remove the lower rear support insulator.
