Mirror-Inside Rear View, Bracket: Installation
- Mark the location of the inside rear view mirror bracket (17698) on the outside of the windshield glass.
- Clean the inside of the windshield glass (03100) with alcohol and then with glass cleaner to remove any remaining adhesive.
- Scuff the bonding surface on the inside rear view mirror bracket.
- Wipe the surface clean.
NOTE: Do not contaminate the clean bonding surface of the inside rear view mirror bracket. - Apply a uniform coat of Accelerator D9AZ-19554-CA to the inside windshield glass and to the entire bonding surface of the inside rear view mirror bracket.
- Allow the accelerator to dry for three minutes.
- Apply Rear View Mirror Adhesive D9AZ-19554-CA to the inside windshield glass and the inside rear view mirror bracket.
- Press the inside rear view mirror bracket firmly against the windshield glass for one minute.
- Allow the adhesive to set for five minutes.
- Remove any excess adhesive from the windshield glass with a clean, alcohol-dampened cloth.
- Slide the inside rear view mirror (17700) down onto the inside rear view mirror bracket until the mirror is firmly fixed in place.
NOTE:
The top of the mirror may need to be lightly tapped with a rubber mallet to ensure that it is properly seated.
