Oil Pump: Removal

  1. Remove the radiator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the converter housing cover.
  4. NOTE: To prevent the crankshaft from rotating, use a breaker bar to bar the engine.
  5. Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt and washer.
  6. Using the special tool, remove the crankshaft vibration damper.

  7. Remove the oil pump housing bolts and the oil pump body plate and square-cut O-ring.

  8. Remove the inner gerotor.

  9. Clean the oil pump assembly.
