Removal and Installation

- Disconnect both battery ground cables. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the radiator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Remove the condenser. For additional information, refer to AIR CONDITIONING .
- Remove the serpentine drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE .
- Remove the turbocharger exhaust clamp.
- Remove the resonator. For additional information, refer to AIR INTAKE RESONATOR .
- Disconnect the electrical connector and the engine wiring harness from the bracket.
- Remove the nuts and the engine wiring harness bracket.
- Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission fluid indicator tube.
- Remove the oil fill tube bolt.
- Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
- Remove the bell housing bolt and position the transmission fluid indicator tube aside.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the bolt securing the fuel tubes.
- Remove the nut and the cable bracket. Remove the stud bolt, bolt and the transmission tube bracket.
- Install the mounting brackets.
- Remove the mounting nuts.
- Loosen the retaining bolts.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the Diesel Engine Lifting Attachment and Heavy Duty Floor Crane.
- Raise the engine until the studs clear the crossmember.
- Remove the bolts and the engine insulators.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

CAUTION:
Make sure the turbocharger does not contact the cowl.
