Engine Mount: Removal

- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Partially drain the radiator and disconnect the upper radiator hose at the radiator.
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
- Remove the accelerator cable snow shield.
- Disconnect the throttle body cam.
- Disconnect the accelerator cable.
- If equipped, disconnect the speed control cable.
- Remove the throttle return spring.
- Position the accelerator cable bracket aside.
- Remove the bolts.
- Position the bracket and cable aside.
- Release the idle air control (IAC) fresh air tube from the routing clip and remove it from the vehicle.
- Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge valve vacuum hose from the throttle body adapter.
- Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose and main vacuum harness from the throttle body adapter.
- Disconnect the IAC electrical connector.
- Disconnect the heater hose.
- If equipped, disconnect the differential pressure feedback exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system electrical connector.
- Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
- If equipped, disconnect the differential pressure feedback EGR system vacuum hoses.
- If equipped, disconnect the exhaust manifold to EGR valve tube fittings and remove the tube.
- If equipped, remove the differential pressure feedback EGR system bracket.
- If equipped, disconnect the EGR valve vacuum hose.
- If equipped, disconnect the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid electrical and vacuum connections.
- Remove the throttle body adapter.
- Remove the four bolts.
- Remove the throttle body adapter.
- Remove and discard the throttle body adapter gasket.
- Remove the generator. Refer to GENERATORS & REGULATORS .
- Remove the two screws at the top of the fan shroud and position the fan shroud toward the engine.
- Install the modular engine support bracket on the engine using the generator mounting holes.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the engine mount nuts.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Raise the engine using the Heavy Duty Engine Support.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the starter motor if the RH engine mount is to be repaired. Refer to STARTERS .
- Remove the bolts and the engine mounts.
