Heater Control Valve and Heater Hoses

NOTE: Lubricate the coolant hoses with plain water only if needed.
  1. Position the vehicle on a hoist with the gear selector in NEUTRAL.
  2. Remove the engine air cleaner outlet tube.
  3. If removing the heater tube assembly remove the fresh air inlet duct. For additional information, Refer to AIR DISTRIBUTION DUCTS .
  4. If removing a heater hose or the heater tube assembly drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, Refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  5. If removing the dual coolant control valve or the auxiliary coolant flow pump, clamp off the heater hoses at the component before disconnecting.
  6. To remove individual components, only carry out the following steps:

  7. Illustration 1 of 2. Remove the components in the order indicated in Fig 2.

  9. Fill the engine cooling system. For additional information, Refer to ENGINE COOLING .
