In-Vehicle Repair: Camshaft: Installation

Lubricate the camshaft bearings (6261), lobes and journals with clean engine oil. Install the camshaft.

Install the engine balance shaft drive gear.
- The timing marks on the engine balance shaft drive gear and driven gear must align.

Install the following components:
- Lower intake manifold. For additional information, refer to LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- Valve covers. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER LH and VALVE COVER RH .
- Valve tappets. For additional information, refer to VALVE TAPPET .
- Engine front cover. For additional information, refer to ENGINE FRONT COVER .
- Engine dynamic balance shaft. For additional information, refer to ENGINE DYNAMIC BALANCE SHAFT .
