Test K: Radio Interference

  1. Start engine and let idle. Tune radio to station where interference is present. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect upper generator 3-pin harness connector. Start engine and let idle. If interference is not still present, go to next step. If interference is still present, go to step  3.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Replace upper generator with known-good unit. See UPPER GENERATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Start engine and let idle. If interference is not still present, upper generator was cause of problem. If interference is still present, install original generator and repair radio concern.
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect upper generator harness connector. Disconnect lower generator 3-pin harness connector. Start engine and let idle. If interference is not still present, replace lower generator. See LOWER GENERATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If interference is still present, repair radio concern.
