Test B: Single Mirror Inoperative

Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove appropriate door trim panel. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE - ESCORT & ZX2 article. Disconnect mirror control switch harness connector and suspect mirror harness connector. Measure resistance of Light/Green wire between left mirror harness connector and mirror control switch 8-pin harness connector C218terminal No. 7, or Light Green/Black wire between right mirror harness connector and mirror control switch harness connector C218 terminal No. 8. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace mirror. See SIDE MIRROR GLASS & MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation.
