Test A: Both Mirrors Inoperative: ZX2

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Check RADIO fuse (5-amp). Fuse is located in Central Junction Box (CJB). CJB is located behind left side of instrument panel. See Figure. If fuse is not blown, reinstall fuse and go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace fuse. Retest system operation. If fuse blows again, repair short to ground in Blue/Black wire between CJB and mirror control switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation.
  2. Ensure ignition switch is in LOCK position. Disconnect mirror control switch 8-pin harness connector C218. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and mirror control switch harness connector C218 terminal No. 1 (Blue/Black wire). See Figure. If more than 10 volts exist, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exist, repair open in Blue/Black wire between CJB and mirror control switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation.
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and mirror control switch harness connector C218 terminal No. 5 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace mirror control switch. See MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation.
