Engine and Radiator Flushing

CAUTION: Radiator internal pressure must not exceed 138 kPa (20 psi). Damage may result.
  1. Backflush the radiator. With the radiator upside down, position a high-pressure water hose in the lower hose location and backflush.
  2. Remove the water hose connection (8592) and water thermostat. For additional information, refer to THERMOSTAT - 2.0L SPI  or THERMOSTAT - 2.0L ZETEC .
  3. Backflush the engine. Position the high-pressure hose into engine through the water thermostat location and backflush the engine.
