Removal & Installation: Condenser: Removal

  1. Recover refrigerant using an approved refrigerant recovery system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Measure the amount of oil lost during recovery and record.
  2. Remove the front fascia. Remove battery box air duct. See Fig 1 .
  3. Remove Condenser Radiator Fan Module (CRFM) closeout panel. See Fig 2 .
  4. Remove Receiver/Dehydrator (RD) line from condenser. See Figure .
  5. Install protective cap to RD line to prevent contamination and desiccant saturation.
  6. Remove compressor hose from condenser. Install protective cap to the compressor hose to prevent contamination and desiccant saturation.
  7. Remove upper condenser radiator fan module bracket and puck assembly. See Fig 3 . Lift condenser while holding upper retention tabs forward and remove condenser. See Fig 4 .
