Solenoid Body Assembly: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING & CABLES .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING & HOISTING .
  3. Drain the transmission fluid.

  4. Remove the converter housing plug.

  5. Remove the drain plug.

  6. Disconnect the wire harness from the top of the transmission shift cable bracket.

  7. Remove the transmission shift cable bracket and position out of the way.

  8. Disconnect the HO2S sensor connectors and remove the sensor wire retaining clip from the right side of the transmission pan rail.

  9. Remove the HO2S sensor connector from the front of the transmission pan rail.

  10. NOTE: Clean the area around connector to prevent contamination of the solenoid body connector.

  11. Disconnect the transmission connector.
  12. NOTE: The transmission fluid pan gasket is reusable. Clean and inspect for damage. If not damaged, the gasket should be reused.

  13. Remove the transmission fluid pan and gasket.
  14. Remove the transmission fluid filter.

  15. Disconnect the reverse pressure switch connector.

  16. Remove the solenoid body.
