Speed Control

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Lincoln Town Car. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The SPEED CONTROL display illuminates when the instrument cluster receives an ON vehicle speed control high resolution set speed command from the PCM through the communication network. The speed control servo receives its input directly from the speed control switch. If the instrument cluster fails to receive a vehicle speed high resolution set speed command, the instrument cluster defaults to the last known value. After each ignition cycle, if no command is received, the instrument cluster defaults and does not illuminate the SPEED CONTROL display.
