Stabilizer Bar: Installation

  1. Install insulators onto stabilizer bar. Stabilizer bar bushings must be located correctly on the flats of the stabilizer bar with no lubricant. See Fig 1 . Set stabilizer bar to design height setting, but do not install links. Support stabilizer bar with cable ties. See Fig 2 . Install clamps, and tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. CAUTION: Ensure the crossmember ball bearing washers and captives are installed correctly.
  3. Use Subframe Alignment Pins (502-002) to alignment crossmember. See Fig 3 . Install crossmember bolts. Remove right alignment pin and tighten bolts to specification. See Figure . Remove transaxle jack Remove left alignment pin. Install support insulator bolt, and tighten to specification.
  4. Install lower control arm ball joint and connecting links, and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install tie rod ends, and tighten to specification. Install wheel. Reconnect steering column shaft. Connect battery ground cable. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
