Removal & Installation (Focus)

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK .
    2. CAUTION: DO NOT bend float and/or arm of sending unit assembly of fuel pump module.
  2. Using Fuel Tank Sender Unit Wrench (310-069), remove fuel pump module retainer ring. Rotate fuel pump module counterclockwise and lift fuel pump module from fuel tank. Remove and discard fuel pump module seal. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Perform evaporative emission system leak test.
