Disassembly And Assembly Of Subassemblies: Mainshaft: Assembly

CAUTION: Press the input shaft bearing onto the shaft by the inner race only. Pressing on the outer race will damage the bearing.

Using the special tools, press the input shaft bearing on the input shaft.
- Make sure the bearing is installed against fifth gear.

Place the special tool in a vise, then install the input shaft Install the input shaft locknut.

NOTE: Place the Bearing/Oil Seal Plate in a vise.

Rotate the input shaft and place it in the bearing/oil seal plate.
Install the third gear needle bearing.

Install third gear.

Assemble the third and fourth gear synchronizer.

Install the third and fourth gear synchronizer assembly.
- Move the synchronizer sliding sleeve to the center position.

Install the retaining ring.

Install the needle bearing.

Install the input shaft needle bearing.
