Compressor Hose Assembly: Removal

- Recover the refrigerant. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
- Remove the left headlamp.
- Remove the compressor hose nut from the battery box. See Fig 1 .
- Remove the compressor hose from the battery box.
- On 3.0L models, remove the compressor hose nut from the suction hose jumper. See Fig 2 .
- Separate the compressor hose from the suction hose jumper.
- Install a protective cap to the suction hose jumper to prevent contamination and desiccant saturation.
- On 2.0L models, remove the compressor hose nut from the TXV. See Fig 3 .
- Remove the compressor hose from the TXV.
- Install a protective cap to the TXV to prevent contamination and desiccant saturation.
- Remove the compressor hose nut from the condenser. See Fig 4 .
- Remove the compressor hose from the condenser.
- Install a protective cap to condenser to prevent contamination and desiccant saturation.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the compressor hose bolt from the compressor.
- Remove the compressor hose assembly from the compressor. See Figure .
- Remove and discard the "O" rings from the compressor.
- Install a protective cap to the compressor to prevent contamination and desiccant saturation.
- Remove the compressor hose from the vehicle.
- Remove and discard the sealing washers from the TXV and the condenser ends of the compressor hose.
