Intake Manifold: Removal
- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
- Disconnect the vacuum hoses at the (1) fuel pressure regulator and the (2) intake manifold.

Can be purchased as a separate item.
- Disconnect the vacuum lines from the (1) exhaust recirculation valve, the (2) positive crankcase ventilation valve, and the (3) idle air control valve.
- Disconnect the (1) speed control cable (if equipped), the (2) accelerator cable (9A758), and the throttle control lever (9A776).
- Remove the bolt.
- Disconnect the (A) idle air control (IAC) valve and the (B) throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connectors.
- Remove the oil level indicator tube bracket bolt from the intake manifold.
- Disconnect the EGR manifold tube located just below the EGR valve.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the oil level indicator tube (6754) from the cylinder block (6010).
- Remove the nuts.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the nuts and remove the intake manifold (9424). Discard the gasket.
