Connecting Rod - Bend

  1. Measure the connecting rod bend on a suitable alignment fixture. Follow the instructions of the fixture manufacturer. Verify the bend measurement is within specification.
    • For 2.0L Zetec engine procedure see appropriate section in ENGINE - 2.0L ZETEC . For 3.0L (4V) engine procedure see appropriate section in ENGINE - 3.0L (4V) .
    • If out of specification, install new components as necessary. For 2.0L Zetec engine procedure see appropriate section in ENGINE - 2.0L ZETEC . For 3.0L (4V) engine procedure see appropriate section in ENGINE - 3.0L (4V) .
