Description & Operation

Power windows are operated by reversible motors mounted with each window regulator. Each passenger's window has an individual switch for separate control. A master power window switch is located on driver's door trim panel and all windows may be controlled from this switch. A lock-out switch is incorporated in master power windowswitch. When actuated, lock-out switch prevents window operation from individual switches.

Driver's power window one-touch down operation is controlled by Driver's Door Module (DDM), if equipped with remote keyless entry, or one-touch down module if not equipped with remote keyless entry. One-touch down operation is requested of module by momentarily pressing driver's window down switch for 32-480 milliseconds. Module uses initial voltage input from down switch to begin one-touch down operation. If voltage input was less than 480 milliseconds, module will maintain voltage supply to motor down circuit. Maxi-fuse 28 (20 amp) supplies power to module for this operation. Module will maintain operation until:

Ground for one-touch down operation does not pass through module. Ground is supplied through master power window switch as with normal operation. If module continues to detect voltage on down circuit for more than 480 milliseconds after initial activation, module will not affect operation. Down circuit through module is a direct connection to motor in its normal state. This allows master power window switch to control motor for normal operation. Passenger's power window motors are hardwired directly to power window switches.
