Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
Prior to removal of the module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the diagnostic tool. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION

CAUTION:
Electronic modules are sensitive to electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the instrument panel cluster finish panel. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
- Remove the ignition lock cylinder. For additional information, refer to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS .
- Remove the screws and remove the instrument panel lower steering column cover.
- Twist and tilt wheel handle and shank counterclockwise and remove.
- Remove the screws and remove the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
- Position the transmission range indicator cable aside.
- Disconnect the cable.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the instrument cluster.
- Remove the screws.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the instrument cluster.
- Remove the screws.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
Once the new module is installed, it is necessary to download the module configuration information from the diagnostic tool into the new instrument cluster. For additional information; refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION
