Parking Aid Module

Parking Aid Module (PAM) calculates distance to an object by using 4 ultrasonic sensors mounted in rear bumper. Sensors can detect objects in a semicircular area around vehicle, approximately 5.9 ft. (1.80 m) to rear of vehicle, 1.6 ft. (.50 m) to rear side of vehicle and 6" (15.2 cm) above ground. A variable warning tone is generated from a sounder located inside right rear upper "D" pillar trim. Warning tone rate increases as vehicle gets closer to an obstacle and becomes continuous when vehicle is within 10" (25.4 cm) of object.
