Test A: No Communication With Central Security Module
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect 26-pin Central Security Module (CSM) harness connector C274A. CSM is located behind right side of instrument panel. Inspect CSM harness connector C274A for physical damage, bent terminals or corrosion. Repair harness connector as necessary and retest system for normal operation. If CSM harness connector is okay, go to next step.
- Measure resistance in Light Blue/White wire between CSM harness connector C274A terminal No. 3 and Data Link Connector (DLC) terminal No. 7. See Fig 1
and Fig 2
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Blue/White wire between CSM and DLC.
- Disconnect all CSM harness connectors. Inspect CSM harness connectors for physical damage, bent terminals or corrosion. Repair harness connectors as necessary. Reconnect all CSM harness connectors. If problem still exists, replace CSM. If problem no longer exists, system is okay at this time.
