Test B: Front Height Movement Inoperative

  1. Disconnect front seat height motor harness connector C328, located under driver's seat. Measure resistance between ground and Red/Light Blue wire terminal at front seat height motor harness connector C328. Measure resistance between ground and Yellow/Light Blue wire terminal at front seat height motor harness connector C328. If either resistance reading is more than 5 ohms, go to next step. If both resistance reading are 5 ohms or less, go to step  3 .
  2. Disconnect 8-pin seat control switch harness connector C312. Measure resistance of Red/Light Blue wire between front seat height motor harness connector C328 and seat control switch harness connector C312 terminal No. 7. See Figure . Measure resistance of Yellow/Light Blue wire between front seat height motor harness connector C328 and seat control switch harness connector C312 terminal No. 5. If both resistance readings are 5 ohms or less, replace seat control switch. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . If either resistance reading is more than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate wire between front seat height motor and seat control switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Disconnect 8-pin seat control switch harness connector C312. Measure resistance between ground and Red/Light Blue wire terminal at front seat height motor harness connector C328. Measure resistance between ground and Yellow/Light Blue wire terminal at front seat height motor harness connector C328. If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate wire between front seat height motor and seat control switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  4. Connect seat control switch harness connector C312. Measure voltage between ground and front seat height motor harness connector C328 Red/Light Blue wire terminal while pressing seat control switch to front up position. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, replace seat control switch. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .
  5. Measure voltage between ground and front seat height motor harness connector C328 Yellow/Light Blue wire terminal while pressing seat control switch to front down position. If battery voltage exists, replace seat track assembly. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . If battery voltage does not exist, replace seat control switch.
