Deck Lid Release Relay

  1. Remove deck lid release relay from relay box. Relay box is located behind left side of instrument panel, next to central junction box. With deck lid release relay removed, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 2, and between terminals No. 3 and 4. See Figure. Continuity should not exist between terminal No. 1 and terminals No. 3, 4 and 5. Continuity should not exist between terminal No. 3 and terminals No. 1, 2 and 5. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace deck lid release relay.
  2. Apply battery voltage to deck lid release relay terminal No. 1. Apply ground to deck lid release relay terminal No. 2. Continuity should now exist between deck lid release relay terminals No. 3 and 5. Continuity should not exist between deck lid release relay terminals No. 3 and 4. If continuity is as specified, deck lid release relay is okay at this time. If continuity is not as specified, replace deck lid release relay.
