(1) Using NGS tester, retrieve and document all continuous DTCs. Perform Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module self-test. If DTC B1342 is retrieved again, replace ABS module.

(1) See POWER DOOR LOCKS & REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS - EXPLORER SPORT & EXPLORER SPORT TRAC article.
(2) Using NGS tester, retrieve and document continuous DTCs. Clear all DTCs. Perform CSM self-test. If DTC B1342 is retrieved again, replace CSM.
(3) See MODULE CONFIGURATION  under PROGRAMMING.

(1) Check wiring harness for open and/or short circuits and repair as necessary. See appropriate ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
(2) See appropriate GENERATORS & REGULATORS article in STARTING & CHARGING SYSTEMS.
(3) See ANALOG INSTRUMENT CLUSTER - EXPLORER SPORT & EXPLORER SPORT TRAC article.
(4) Check wiring harness for open and/or short circuits and repair as necessary. See appropriate WARNING SYSTEMS article.
(5) Using NGS tester, retrieve and document all continuous DTCs. Perform Generic Electronic Module (GEM) self-test. If DTC B1342 is retrieved again, replace GEM.
(6) See appropriate REAR WINDOW DEFOGGERS article.
(7) See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES.
(8) See appropriate POWER WINDOWS.
(9) See appropriate WIPER/WASHER SYSTEMS.
(10) See appropriate TRANSFER CASE - ELECTRONIC CONTROLS.

(1) Perform appropriate test in PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS - EXPLORER SPORT & EXPLORER SPORT TRAC article.
(2) Using NGS tester, retrieve and document all continuous DTCs. Perform Powertrain Control Module (PCM) self-test. If DTC B1342 is retrieved again, replace PCM.
(3) Verify if customer is using correct PATS key. Replace if PATS key is defective.
