System Tests: Notes

CAUTION: Use care when probing Battery Junction Box (BJB), Central Junction Box (CJB) or any connectors. Damage will result to connector receptacle if probe or terminal being used is too large.
CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Damage may result to electronic modules if exposed to static electrical charges. Ensure ignition switch is in OFF or LOCK position before disconnecting any module connector.
NOTE: For module, sensor, speaker or switch replacement procedure, see appropriate procedure under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . After any repairs are made to vehicle, always perform data link diagnostic test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - EXPLORER & MOUNTAINEER article.

Condition Perform Test
No Communication With Parking Aid Module A 
Parking Aid Is Inoperative B 
Continuous Or Intermittent Tone When No Obstacles Or DTCs Exist (1)
(1) Ensure rear bumper and sensors are clean, parking aid sensors and sensor holders are locked correctly into position, and perform azimuth and elevation checks. See AZIMUTH SYSTEM CHECK  and ELEVATION SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM OPERATIONS CHECKS under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
