Test C: DEACTIVATOR Switch Circuit (Flash Code 3)
NOTE:
See WIRING DIAGRAMS
for circuit repairs. After each service or repair procedure has been completed, reconnect all components.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect speed control servo/actuator 6-pin harness connector C171. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between speed control servo/actuator harness connector C171 terminals No. 9 (Black/Yellow wire) and No. 10 (Black wire). See Figure . If 10 volts or less exist, go to next step. If more than 10 volts exist, replace speed control servo/actuator. Recheck system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect deactivator switch 2-pin harness connector C102. Deactivator switch is located in front of brake master cylinder. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect a jumper wire between deactivator switch harness connector C102 terminals. Measure voltage between speed control servo/actuator harness connector C171 terminals No. 9 (Black/Yellow wire) and No. 10 (Black wire). If 10 volts or less exist, go to next step. If 10 volts or more exist, replace deactivator switch. Recheck system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove jumper wire. Measure resistance of Black/Yellow wire between speed control servo/actuator harness connector C171 terminal No. 9 and deactivator switch harness connector C103. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Light Green/Red wire between deactivator switch and Central Junction Box (CJB). Recheck system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Black/Yellow wire between speed control servo/actuator and deactivator switch. Recheck system operation.
