  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Inspect all generator and battery connections for looseness, corrosion or bent terminals. If connections are clean and tight, go to next step. If connections are loose, corroded, or bent, clean and tighten connections as necessary. Retest for normal system operation.
  2. Start engine. Inspect battery junction box fuse No. 23 (15-amp). See Figure. Inspect central junction box fuse No. 12 (15-amp). See Figure. Wiggle fuses and observe warning indicator operation. If warning indicator does not flicker, go to next step. If warning indicator flickers, repair loose fuse connection(s) as necessary. Retest for normal system operation.
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Using a fused (15-amp) jumper wire connected to positive battery terminal, backprobe generator harness connector terminal "A" (Yellow/White wire). See Figure. Start engine. Observe warning indicator. If warning indicator flickers, replace generator. See GENERATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If warning indicator does not flicker, repair loose connections in circuit. Retest system operation.
