Test E: Right Rear Power Window Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect right rear window adjust switch 6-pin harness connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and right rear window adjust switch harness connector terminal No. 3 (Red/Light Blue wire). See Figure . If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire between right rear window adjust switch and central junction box. Central junction box is located behind left side of instrument panel.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect master window/door lock/unlock switch 12-pin harness connector. Measure resistance of Yellow/Light Blue wire between master window/door lock/unlock switch harness connector terminal No. 6 and right rear window adjust switch harness connector terminal No. 1. See Figure and Figure . Measure resistance of Gray/Orange wire between master window/door lock/unlock switch harness connector terminal No. 7 and right rear window adjust switch harness connector terminal No. 6. If both resistances are less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If either resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Light Blue wire or Gray/Orange wire.
  3. Measure resistance between ground and right rear window adjust switch harness connector terminals No. 1 (Yellow/Light Blue wire) and No. 6 (Gray/Orange wire). If both resistances are 10 k/ohms or more, go to next step. If either resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Light Blue wire or Gray/Orange wire between master window/door lock/unlock switch and right rear window adjust switch.
  4. Remove right rear window adjust switch. Test right rear window adjust switch. See WINDOW ADJUST SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If right rear window adjust switch is okay, go to next step. If right rear window adjust switch is not okay, replace switch.
  5. Remove master window/door lock/unlock switch. Test master window/door lock/unlock switch. See MASTER WINDOW/DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If master window/door lock/unlock switch is okay, go to next step. If master window/door lock/unlock switch is not okay, replace switch.
  6. Disconnect right rear window motor 2-pin harness connector. Measure resistance of Yellow/Light Blue wire between right rear window adjust switch harness connector terminal No. 5 and right rear window motor harness connector. Measure resistance of Yellow/Black wire between right rear window adjust switch harness connector terminal No. 2 and right rear window motor harness connector. If both resistances are less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If either resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Light Blue wire or Yellow/Black wire.
  7. Measure resistance between ground and right rear window adjust switch harness connector terminals No. 2 (Yellow/Black wire) and No. 5 (Yellow/Light Blue wire). See Figure . If both resistances are 10 k/ohms or more, replace right rear window motor. If either resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Black wire or Yellow/Light Blue wire.
