System Tests: Notes

WARNING: Front seats can be equipped with side air bags and/or seat belt pretensioners. Air bag system must be deactivated before any diagnostics or services are performed. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Air Bag Simulators (418-F088) MUST be connected under seats to side air bag connectors (2 required). Air bag simulators MUST be removed prior to driving vehicle.
CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE: Before beginning system tests, perform PRELIMINARY INSPECTION  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.

A Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) is required to test the power seat system. After repairs are complete, ensure all components are properly installed and all harness connectors are connected properly.
