Test G: Flash Code 2 - Brake Pedal Position Switch Circuit Failure

  1. Press and release brake pedal while observing brakelights. If brakelights operate properly, go to next step. If brakelights do not operate properly, repair as necessary. See EXTERNAL LIGHTS article.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect speed control actuator 10-pin harness connector C122. Disconnect PCM 104-pin harness connector C175. Disconnect anti-lock brake control module 25-pin harness connector C155. Disconnect Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch 2-pin harness connector C278. Measure resistance of Light Green wire between speed control actuator harness connector C122 terminal No. 4 and PCM harness connector C175 terminal No. 92, and between anti-lock brake control module harness connector C155 terminal No. 2 and BPP switch harness connector C278 terminal No. 1. See Figure , Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms in all measurements, replace speed control actuator. See SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more in any measurement, repair open or high resistance in appropriate Light Green wire.
