Final Drive Assembly: Disassembly
- Remove thrust bearing and race No. 16 if not previously removed during low-intermediate clutch cylinder disassembly. Remove parking gear from differential output shaft. Remove final drive sun gear and deflector assembly. See Figure . Remove speedometer drive gear, if equipped.
- Drive out pinion shaft roll pin. Tap out pinion shaft. Remove pinion gears and thrust washers by rotating output shaft. Remove right side gear and thrust washer.
- Push output shaft toward center of housing. Slide left side gear back and remove snap ring. Slide shaft out of housing and remove side gear and thrust washer.
